The route is the same as year incorporating the recently opened walking bridge across the Red Deer River.

From the start line runners will go east to 17th street, then turn north for one block and turn east on to the walking path that is parallel to Hwy 838. You will turn right with the path to head south towards the river. Stay on the path as it winds through the beautiful treed area. You will continue west until you reach the black train bridge. Proceed across the bridge, then follow the path to the west. This part of the route will take you through the quaint subdivision of Nacmine. Nacmine was another miners village from the early 20s. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the valley and the beautiful homes along the path. On the return trip you get a totally different view of the valley. When you get back to the train bridge you will cross the river again and head under the bridge to head out through McMullen Island. After crossing Hwy 838, participants will head into the picturesque badlands on a loop through the hills and back returning on the same trail thought McMullen Island and back to the Midland Hall start/finish.
